On Wednesday 12 August, the UK will witness a rare partial solar eclipse. The eclipse, where the moon passes between the Earth and the sun, will obscure almost 96% of the sun at its maximum when viewed from Faringdon. The eclipse will begin around 18:16, reaches it’s peak coverage around 19:13 and will end 20:06.
There is no formal meeting place so make your way outside at home or to be with friends. Just remember to be sensible and don’t stare directly at the sun!
