Cackling Bat Comedy Club on a Saturday night?!?! Yes, for the first time ever, since the beginning of time, Christmas Day has stolen our usual slot of the last Thursday of the month.
Expect some special seasonal treats for this otherwise dull time between Christmas and New Year. An evening of great comedy all loosely held together by our favourite host, Samantha Day.
Headliner – Mike Gunn
A misspent youth and a series of grim jobs cultivated Mike’s cynical outlook on life and a perverse desire led him to the world of stand-up. A self-confessed pessimist, he describes himself as “not a natural choice for a career in laughter”. Hailed as “one of the top ten stand-ups in the land” by The Independent, Mike is a first class stand-up with an intelligent, edgy, and well-crafted routine. An incredibly engaging and skilful comic with a distinctive deadpan, laconic delivery, Mike has performed around the globe and headlines at all the leading UK comedy venues.
Mike Gunn will make you die laughing – The Guardian
Mike will be supported by two fantastic acts on the night:
Eddy Brimson, the unapologetic comedy maverick, has been making waves in the comedy world with his fearless and irreverent humour. With his quick wit and sharp tongue, he fearlessly tackles a wide range of topics, from everyday observations to social commentary, delivering punchlines that leave audiences in stitches.
Eddy Brimson has earned recognition for his no-nonsense approach to comedy and his ability to connect with audiences on a personal level. His magnetic stage presence and unfiltered honesty making him a favourite at comedy clubs and festivals across the country.
“The crowd loved him” – The Guardian
