The Great Barn Festival is a family friendly event celebrating the best of music, theatre, art and nature in an ancient rural setting.

Our Venue

Set in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside, the Great Barn was built over 700 years ago. It was a favourite of William Morris who would regularly bring his guests to wonder at its structure. Morris called it ‘unapproachable in its dignity.

The Corsairs are going to be back at The Folly Inn on Friday 20th September from 8-10pm.  Expect a fabulous night of classic tunes played in their own unique upbeat style.

From Suffolk via Italy, Hannah Scott performs contemporary folk music and is building a loyal following thanks to her distinctive voice, strong melodies and thought-provoking lyrics.

Her music has been heard in the hit TV series Grey’s Anatomy, on BBC Radio 2 and 6 Music including a live session on Dermot O’Leary’s show, while praise for her work has arrived from publications such as MOJO, The Guardian and Clash Magazine.

Hannah was selected to take part in English Folk Expo’s highly competitive Artist Mentoring Programme this year. Her latest album Drawn To Darkness was awarded funding from Help Musicians UK, and her arresting live performances have earned her support slots for the likes of Seth Lakeman, Madeleine Peyroux and 10cc and and shows at venues such as London’s Union Chapel.

A one-off special charity gala concert of songs from various musicals in aid of the Helen and Douglas House Children’s Hospice – “Helping terminally ill children live life to the full”. The concert will take place in the Corn Exchange with rehearsals during the day and a performance at 7.30pm the same evening. The show will include group and ensemble numbers featuring familiar songs from Les Miserables, South Pacific, Wicked, Phantom of the Opera and The Greatest Showman amongst others!

Performances start 7:30 pm. Doors open 30 minutes earlier.

Tickets: £12. No concessions. Add 5% online booking fee. Tickets will be available from our Online Box Office (from Saturday 3 August 2024).

This production is to be performed in association with Faringdon Dramatic Society, and the event will involve members of the society alongside others from a wider sphere.

Highly accomplished she’s toured with such notable performers as Jools Holland, Van Morrison, Nanci Griffith and Loudon Wainwright III to name just a few.

Edwina numbers Michael Parkinson and Mike Harding among her fans and the title track of her album Pour Me A Drink was covered by Nanci Griffith who calls her ‘the sweetest voice in England’.

Her cover of the Randy Newman song Feels Like Home was featured in the Cameron Diaz film My Sister’s Keeper and has since had over ten million plays on Spotify and over thirty million plays on You Tube.

Edwina’s 4th album Ruby Rose was released in December 2021.
